Modern
With her graceful barefoot movements, flowing Grecian costumes,
Isadora Duncan sparked a revolution in American dance and challenged
society's rigid expectations of women. Modern Dance revolutionized
the traditions of this art form, introducing an improvisational,
emotion-driven form that would give birth to a new American style of
dance.
Though Modern Dance has reached all corners of the performing arts
world, it is the subject of continual controversy, often
misunderstood and rebellious against the conventions of ballet, with
dancers barelegged and barefoot.
Modern dance instructors at Fishback Studio are trained in Horton
and Graham styles and include both forms in their teaching. |
