Ballet

Ballet is the fundamental dance discipline that lays the foundation for all other forms of dance. It trains the dancer in flexibility, strength, control, balance and grace. It develops poise and a beautifully coordinated body. Variations of all techniques of ballet are presented, including ballet terminology, choreography and repertoire. Beginning, intermediate and advanced classes are available for children through adults.

Pointe training is part of intermediate and advanced classes. Proper preliminary ballet training is required prior to Pointe training. The student must also be of suitable age and development.

Pre-Ballet
Pre-Ballet classes are offered for boys and girls, ages three, four and five years. They are especially designed to create an interest in dance, and develop rhythm and coordination. Age levels are separated. AM, PM and Saturday classes are available for Pre-Kinder Ballet.

Adult ballet is offered for Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Pre-Kinder Ballet
A planned program to develop rhythm and coordination.  Your child is taught to listen and learn.  Concentration and retention is learned.  A priceless preparation for Kindergarten and schooling.  Learning to take direction is a group and the discipline of following through playing out songs and games.
Class ends with a  few minutes of acrobatics.
 

Ballet Elementary - Ages 8 years and up.
By this age the student is ready both mentally and physically for the discipline that is required for ballet.  Body placement, Barre, Port de Bras and a beginning in center floor work is taught. 

Ballet Intermediate
The firm foundation having been established, the student is taught combinations of steps.  Center floor tempo is increased.  Terminology and Technique are constant challenges.  Pointe shoes have now been earned.
